Since the onset of the COVID pandemic in the March/April time frame of 2020, NCHR has been providing custom non-surgical hair replacement systems and related styling and service/maintenance support in alignment with the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s Hair Salons and Barber Shops COVID-19 Prevention Checklist that covers multiple factors, including:
- Staff Health & Screening
- Signage at the Premises
- Number of People in the Premises
- Scheduling Appointments
- Workstations
- Providing Services
- Shampooing
- Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection
Operating as a boutique non-surgical hair system and styling service provider before the pandemic, NCHR already had many of the health and safety practices in place that have become central to the COVID health and safety measures enacted as part of the government’s response to the pandemic. NCHR has always pre-scheduled appointments; we have never operated as a walk-in service. Appointments engage each client with one dedicated point-of-contact (non-surgical hair system specialist/stylist) and take place in one of 2 spacious styling rooms. Amidst the COVID pandemic, NCHR continues to operate as a boutique, with best practices aligned with government COVID health and safety protocols highlighted by:
- 1 client served on premises at one time (no clients or client guests permitted in the waiting room)
- COVID screening measures applied and each appointment marked by proper application of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as full-face shields, mouth and nose masks, appropriate physical distancing, single use of capes, etc.
- Alcohol-based hand sanitizer (ABHR) with a minimum of 60% alcohol concentration available in each styling room and each styling room with its own products and tools
- Environmental cleaning and disinfection of premises protocols applied between appointments
